Unemployment Compensation Claim Records
Records that document claims submitted for unemployment compensation. Records may include claim records, notices, reports, records generated by the appeal of claim determinations, correspondence, and other related records.
Retain for five years after the end of the fiscal year in which the transaction occurred then dispose of.
Confidential destruction is required. Paper must be shredded, pulped, or incinerated; electronic records must be overwritten or the storage media physically destroyed. Deletion of information in computer files or on electronic storage media is not sufficient.
