This series may include, but is not limited to: research proposals, scientific evaluations that accompany the proposals, approved sample consent documents, statements of findings, progress reports, reports of injuries to subjects, and meeting minutes.

NIH Guidelines for Research Involving DNA Molecules
Confidential destruction is required. Paper must be shredded, pulped, or incinerated; electronic records must be overwritten or the storage media physically destroyed. Deletion of information in computer files or on electronic storage media is not sufficient.
