Grant Records (Pending)

Records that document a proposal for internal or external grant monies. The proposal has been submitted to the institution and the office/department is awaiting notification. File may include correspondence, report, application and other related records.

Retention Period

If the Grant is approved then see retention requirements for Grant Records (Approved). If the Grant is declined retain until administrative usefulness is completed then dispose of.

Disposition Instructions

Confidential destruction is required. Paper must be shredded, pulped, or incinerated; electronic records must be overwritten or the storage media physically destroyed. Deletion of information in computer files or on electronic storage media is not sufficient.
