Author's and Artist's Contracts and Agreements Records
Records that document the duly executed and binding contractual agreements between Emory, authors and artists concerning subjects such as royalties, pricing agreements, and copyright. Information in individual contracts or agreements may include terms and conditions, provisions, amendments, authorizing signatures, and other related records.

Retain authors' contracts and agreements with university presses and artists agreements for 120 years then dispose of. Retain other contracts for current year plus seven years after expiration then dispose of.

Confidential destruction is required. Paper must be shredded, pulped, or incinerated; electronic records must be overwritten or the storage media physically destroyed. Deletion of information in computer files or on electronic storage media is not sufficient.
